Early History
Historical settlers have been in Japan for more that 30,000 years. The Ainu's were one of the earliest group to inhabit Japan. Current Japanese people come from a mix between Mongol, Malay, and Polynesian ancestors. The Ainu are quite alike to the Siberian. They were much taller, more heavily constructed, and more hair. Currently 25,000 Ainu's live in Hokkaido. The first man to study the Ainu lifestyle was John Batchelor.
The Japanese learned many skills from the Chinese , such as rice growing, weaving clothes, and how to work iron and bronze. the happened around the Yayoi period , named after Yayoicho , a village in China.

War
Japan has been through many heart-wrenching wars , but the most recent one was World War 2 (or WW2). On December 7, 1941. The Japanese planned to have a bombing on the U.S Naval on Pearl Harbor. After almost half a year of violent war. The Japan seemed invincible by taking Hong Kong. After that ,there was a great naval battle of the Coral Sea and Midway Island in the summer of 1942. The U.S, Britain , and the U.S.S.R (The Allies) established forts where Japan can be bombed. A three day raid on Tokyo in March 1945 killed almost a devastating 100,000 citizens, 100,000 soldiers, and about 150,000 students and nurses from schools. The Japanese surrender as to the dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 1945 and a declaration of war by Russia.
